Nonlinear Control of Hydrostatic Thrust Bearing Using Multivariable Optimization

This research work is focused on the nonlinear modeling and control of a hydrostatic thrust bearing. In proposed work, mathematical model formulated for bearing system that includes effects uncertainties, unmodelled dynamics, nonlinearities. Depending type inputs, divided into three subsystems. Each subsystem has same output, i.e., fluid film thickness with different types input, viscosity, supply pressure, recess pressure. An extended state observer to estimate unavailable states. A backstepping technique presented achieve desired tracking performance stabilize closed-loop dynamics. The based Lyapunov stability theorem. Moreover, particle swarm optimization used search best tuning parameters controller observer. effectiveness method verified using numerical simulations.
